Karer lake
The Karer lake is only 5 min by car away from the hotel,
on an altitude of 1.520 m it is considered on of the most beautiful lakes
in the Alps.
The water comes form underground fountains of the Latemar mountains.
the depth and parameter of the lake is very seasonal and weather
dependent, the most depth spot is considered to be 22 m.
The lake is reknown for its soft, deep green water and the impressing
mountain environment it is in with the Latemar in the background.
There are many tales about the lake in south Tirol and many poets and
painters have taken the lake as motive and backgrounds for their masterpieces.
The best time to see the lake is in the evening or early morning,
when the mountains of the Rosegarden or Latemar are mirrored in the
crystal clear water.
Kalterer Lake
The Kalterer lake is sourrounded by the typical South tirolean vineyards
south of Kaltern near Tramin, the origin of the Gewürztraminer vine.
The warmest lake in the Alps has developed into a fashionable spot
for holidays in South Tirol.
Blue water is reknown in songs as well as deep, wild and rough. The Kalterer lake is simply calm and green. The surrounding landscape is green. Green of all shades, forrest green, vineyard green, lawn green, tree green... "dann liegt er da, ein grüner Spiegel." A. Komarek
Mediterranean flair at the LIDO, the public bath with an architecture, nobody would expect here. Boots are rowed, sailed or otherwise moved by the power of humankind, some surfers pass in between.
Montiggler lake
The Montiggler lakes are located in the region Südtiroler Überetsch, near Montiggl
in the town of Eppan at the wine street, and are together with the public bath at the lake
an impportant recreation spot for locals and guests alike.
The two lakes (the large Montiggl lake (12,7 m deep - 17,8 ha and the little
Montiggl lake (14,8 m deep - 5,2 ha) are in the midth of the mixed tree forrest of the so called Mittelberg.
Water enthusiasts become stars in their eyes on the mention of the lakes.
Who does not know them....
Surrounded by the forrest with no noise nearby it is the ideal place to relax independet if you do it in the bath or just a cosy spot elsehwere on the lake.
It is a nature resort at Montiggl that with its almost mediterranean forrest in the embedded lakes invites to stay and relax. Take a stroll through the spring valley, where in March/April thousands of snowdrops flower, or just on one of the other hiking trails or at the lakes themselves, this is a spot to get calm and relax and load your batteries anew.
Public Bath at Welschnofen
Only a few kilometres away from our hotel is the outdoor public bath of Welschnofen.
The sport ground is not very large, but it offers aside swimming also other activities like table tennis, beach volleyball, tennis and football. On the lawn besides the pool it is easy to calm down and relax your muscles in the whirlpool's refreshing water to regenerate yourself for the next day. With a cold drink or snack from the pool bar aboe the pool itself you finish the day on a perfect note to start fit in the next day.
