Nature parks in South Tirol

Nature parks - where nature can still be natural

A passage through nature is always worthwhile, especially in nature parks, where the landscape is preserved from the intervention of mankind.

A world looking like being enchanted by witchcraft the hiker finds in the nature park Schlern-Seiser Alm. Braod alpine pastures, a footbath in a mountain stream, after the sweat cure on the mountain flank or the rock tour for connaiseurs - ample are the possibilities in the approx 6.800 ha large park. A unique biodiversity lives in unscathed Natur from 1.300 to 3.000 m above sea level. Here you find all kinds of rare Alpine flowers as well as a wide range of animals including eagles.

the nature park Trudener Horn is the most south and lowest nature park. it ranges from 300 - 1.300m above sea level on an area of 6.870 ha. Due to this location and the submediterranean climate it is home to the most diverse flora and fauna.

The Bletterbach canyon, South Tirols most impresse canyon is on the foot of the Weisshorns in the south of the region and is often called the "Grand Canyon" of South Tirol. A passage through the canyon allows views on the inner side of the mountains. Along more than 8 km the stream has dug itslef more than 400 m deep into the different eras of the earth and thus allows views into millions of earth's history.
