Welschnofen – Carezza in the Heart of the Dolomites, UNESCO World Heritage Site

The legendary mountain ranges Rosengarten and Latemar encircle this South Tyrolean Pearl like two magnificent gates. The Rosengarten massif is bathed in brilliant shades of red as the sun sets over the mountain range. We are right at the heart of King Laurin’s, the dwarf king’s, empire.

A network of 116 km of hiking trails crisscrosses the mountains and valleys with easy panoramic trails and challenging climbs and fixed-cable routes. The Rosengarten can be accessed by foot or with aerial lifts from Welschnofen-Karersee. The wood harvested in the Karerwald forest is nicknamed “sound” wood because it is used for making violins.

Lake Carezza glitters in rainbow colors and throws back a reflection of the Latemar massif. An expanse of 40 km of excellently groomed slopes offers avid skiers everything their hearts desire: perfect delight and plenty of sunshine.
